The next generation of advertising

September 15th, 2006

This morning my first thoughts were “WTF? Which moron put a bottle of wine (or something similar) on top of my daily newspaper?” After looking carefully I noticed writings and drawings, too. Then I realized that the whole page was an ad. Brilliantly done! Look for yourself…

DROA

April 30th, 2006

Recently a UK-based domain registration service provider called “Domain Registry of America” has sent out subscription offers for already reserved .com-domains.

Letter from the so-called Domain Registration Of America

If you received one of these letters you can safely ignore them. It says: “You must renew your domain name to retain exclusive rights[…]”. This is an assumption. Domain subscriptions are renewed annually per default with most registration service providers.

Needless to say that the price of 26€ for an annual subscription is too expensive. Everything above 20€ (incl. VAT) is definitely far too expensive for .com, .net, .org, .biz and .info top level domains.

Do you like e-mails mith attachments? Most of the time you receive the same content again and again. But this one is very cute! I like it, because I didn’t know which part of my chocolate easter rabbit I should eat first.

Pumpkin Potato Soup

March 31st, 2006

Pumpkin soup

Potatoes and pumpkins are healthy. Why not make a soup of both? Here’s the recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Pumpkin (one half)
  • Potatoes (3-4)
  • Soup cubes
  • Caraway (Kümmel)
  • Nutmeg (Muskatnuss)
  • Milk
  • Sour cream
  • Ginger
  • Salt

Slice the pumpkin and the potatoes into small cubes and put them into a pot containing hot water. Add salt, soup cubes, grained caraway, ginger and one nutmeg. Cook and mash the whole thing well but get rid of the nutmeg before you damage your equipment. Finally add a shot of milk and/or sour cream and stir. Before you serve the soup, you may add a shot of pumpkin seed oil as shown in the picture. Gives some nice effect.
